TCC’s volunteer team and Chiachong Elementary School students of Tainan City learned to care for the Earth through reading and hands-on activities.
TCC's volunteer team visited Tainan City’s Chiachong Elementary School, a member of CommonWealth Education Foundation, for the second time this semester. Focusing on the theme of environmental sustainability, the volunteers selected picture books such as“ The King’s Bathtub”, and “Wow! An Eagle in the Park” to guide students in exploring the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), including SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, SDG 14: Life Below Water, and SDG 15: Life on Land.
Following the readings, students engaged in hands-on activities such as collage art and a printmaking art, helping them bring the concept of environmental protection from stories into real-life practice.
Throughout the activities, TCC's volunteer team and Chiachong Elementary students learned and grew together, filling the day with laughter. Looking ahead, TCC will continue to promote environmental education through reading and companionship, supporting the growth of the next generation and nurturing the values of sustainability in young hearts.
